This Privacy Policy explains how Velvet Ninth Studios LLC ("ThrillShort", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use the ThrillShort website at thrillshort.com, the ThrillShort Mini Drama inside TikTok (the "TikTok Mini"), and any ThrillShort app we release (together, the "Service"). Velvet Ninth Studios LLC is responsible for your information as described here.

The short version

• The website has no accounts, no ads and no tracking or advertising cookies.
• In the TikTok Mini, TikTok gives us an identifier unique to our app. We use it, along with your purchases and viewing progress, to deliver the episodes you unlock. We never get your TikTok password.
• We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
• You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time.

1. Information we collect

On the website

• Technical data. When you visit, our hosting and video delivery providers automatically process your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page or video requested, the referring page, and the date and time, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

In the TikTok Mini

• From TikTok when you open the Mini. An identifier TikTok issues for our app (known as an open_id) and a temporary access token. We don't receive your TikTok password, phone number, email address or contacts. If we ever ask TikTok for other profile information, such as your display name, TikTok will ask your permission first and we will update this policy.
• Purchases and subscriptions. Order numbers, what you bought, the price in Beans or money, the status of the order, VIP Pass start, renewal, cancellation and expiry, and refunds. This comes from you and from TikTok's payment notifications. We never receive your card or bank details.
• Viewing activity. The episodes you start, finish and unlock, your progress in each series, the series you save to My List, which offers you see, and the campaign details in the link you used to open the Mini (for example, which of our ads you tapped).
• Your ThrillShort User ID. A short number we create so you can quote it to support. It isn't your TikTok identifier.
• Information stored on your device. Your watch progress and a few display preferences, as explained in our Cookie Policy.
• Support messages you send us.

In our apps

Before we release a ThrillShort app, we will update this policy to describe anything the app collects that isn't listed here.

What we don't collect

We don't collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, biometric data, or government ID numbers from viewers, and we don't knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

2. How we use information

• to provide and stream the Service, and to recognize you when you return to the TikTok Mini;
• to process unlocks and VIP Pass subscriptions, verify payment notifications, and deliver what you paid for;
• to restore access and answer support requests;
• to remember your progress and your list;
• to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and misuse, including unauthorized access to paid episodes;
• to understand, in aggregate, which series, episodes and ad campaigns people watch and buy, so we can improve the Service and our advertising;
• to comply with law, keep financial records, and enforce our Terms.

We don't use your personal information to train AI models, and we don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.

3. How we share information

We share information only in these ways:

• TikTok. The Mini runs on TikTok, which handles sign-in, payments, subscriptions and refunds under its own Privacy Policy. We send TikTok what it needs to create and confirm your orders.
• Apple and Google. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, they process the payment under their own policies.
• Service providers that work for us under contract and may use the information only to provide their services to us: cloud hosting, databases, video storage and streaming (inside TikTok this is BytePlus, as TikTok requires), and email.
• Legal and safety reasons. When required by law or legal process, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of ThrillShort, our users or others, including to prevent fraud.
• Business transfers. If Velvet Ninth Studios LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
• With your consent, or as aggregated or de-identified information that can't reasonably be linked to you.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising). We have not done so in the past 12 months. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and give you a way to opt out.

4. Advertising and measurement

We advertise ThrillShort on TikTok. When you tap one of our ads, the link can carry campaign details (such as a campaign or ad identifier), which we store with your viewing activity so we can tell which ads bring viewers. How TikTok measures ads inside its app is governed by TikTok's Privacy Policy and your TikTok ad settings. There are no third-party ad networks or ad trackers on our website, and we don't show ads there.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use only the cookies and device storage needed to run the Service and remember your progress. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

6. How long we keep information

• Website server logs: for short periods, generally no more than 90 days, unless we need them to investigate a security issue.
• Your TikTok Mini profile (identifier, unlocks, VIP Pass status, progress and list): while you use the Service, and up to 3 years after your last activity so you don't lose what you paid for. After that we delete or de-identify it.
• Purchase and transaction records: as long as tax, accounting and other laws require, generally up to 7 years.
• TikTok access tokens: only as long as needed to keep you signed in; they expire on their own.
• Support emails: up to 3 years after your request is resolved.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and limited access to personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. Email support@thrillshort.com with the subject "Privacy request" and, if you use the TikTok Mini, your ThrillShort User ID from the Profile tab so we can find your records. We may ask you to confirm the request from inside the Mini to verify it's you. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of your permission.

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Texas, Virginia and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws), you may also have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We don't do any of these. We will respond within the time the law requires, usually 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject "Appeal"; if we deny the appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.

• Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser.
• Do Not Track. Our website doesn't track you across other websites, so it works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
• Disconnecting TikTok. You can also remove our access in your TikTok settings, where TikTok lists the apps and services connected to your account.
• California "Shine the Light". We don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

The sources, purposes and retention periods are described in sections 1, 2 and 6. We don't collect sensitive personal information, and we don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act.

9. Children and teens

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. We don't sell the personal information of anyone under 18 or use it for targeted advertising.

10. Users outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and the Service is intended for users there. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States. If the laws of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland apply to you, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (delivering the Service and your purchases), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, measurement and improvement), compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where required. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and complain to your local data protection authority. Transfers to the United States are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses in our providers' data processing terms.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will give notice before it takes effect, for example on the website or in the TikTok Mini.
